Logistics Coordinator

Our client in the Northern Suburbs is in need of a Logistics Coordinator

1. Relationship with Customers & Suppliers

• Answer customer queries
• Meet your suppliers/customer in person and build a relationship with them

1. Accuracy

• Report and resolve any discrepancies and non-conformances that may occur in a timeously and effective manner and install preventative measures
• Implement measures to ensure that the customer doesn’t receive wrong product and quantity
• Processing invoices accurately

1. Staff Management

• Co-ordinate logistics staff according to availabilities and requirement

1. Communication

• Prepare accurate feedback reports and present it to Logistics head once a week
• Clear, concise, and consistent communication with all departments

1. Stock Rotation

• Organizing and managing inventory and storage
• Implement stock rotation measures
• Continuously review and adjust the storage of stock to manage warehousing space in a logical and efficient manner

1. Warehousing Costs & Cost Analysis

• Keep record of warehouse stock, picked order and invoiced stock
• Monitoring shipments, costs, timelines, and productivity
• Define and understand primary, variable, and fixed costs.
• Understand the relevance of other types of costs and how they behave under certain circumstances and conditions relevant to time.
• Basic methods and calculations for determining pricing in transport costs

1. Inventory Control

• Maintain and improve stock accuracy through random inventory spot checks and monthly stock takes
• Addressing and resolving shipment and inventory issues
• Manage accurate movement of stock through monitoring stock receipt, handling, and despatch
• Manage stock replenishment to maintain optimal stock availability by continuously reviewing and updating stock levels
• Regular and accurate stock takes
• Deciding on the minimum level of inventory
• Choosing a sound inventory control method
• Manage obsolete stock – First in/ First out
• Manage the raw material store – All despatch rules apply to this area as well

1. Lead time

• Open communication with customers
• Reviewing, preparing, and routing shipments
• Ensuring the safe and timely pick-up and delivery of shipments
