JOB SUMMARY:
A well-developed company located in Johannesburg is looking for a Logistic Manager who has experience in manufacturing. The candidate must have a degree in logistics Management or similar to it. This position involves planning, controlling, monitoring, and overseeing activities, and workflow processes in the overall running of the distribution function with a particular emphasis on Inventory management including procurement of raw material and finished products.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Minimum requirements:

Matric (preferably with mathematics).
Degree in or related to Logistics management and professional technical qualification.
MBA or other management qualification.
10 years of experience as a Logistic Manager or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
Highly Computer literate (Excel, Word, MS Office, and Outlook)
SYSPRO experience is advantageous.
In-depth knowledge of Forecasting, Distribution Management, and Stock control.

Duties and responsibilities

Managing performance and discipline within the department
Controlling and monitoring tracker devices, fleet management systems
Managing stock for branches
Selecting carriers and negotiating contracts and rates.
Planning and monitoring inbound and outgoing deliveries.
Devise ways to improve operational performance and report to Executive Management.
Managing performance and discipline of staff.
Identifying training needs within the department.
Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety, Security protocols, and ISO requirements.
Implementing stock control systems, monitoring, and controlling stock transferred to branches.
Manage local and branch fleets including repairs and maintenance of vehicles.
Develop systems and implement software to monitor and improve cost-effectiveness.
Researching ideal shipping techniques, methodologies, routing, and vehicle design.
Evaluating budgets and expenditures.
Updating and evaluating metrics to assess performance and implement enhancements.
