Logistics Officer

SUMMARY:
A world class Mining contractor has an opportunity for a Logistics operations Officer inn their JHB offices

POSITION INFO:

• Communications with internal goods procurement team;
•  Examine the goods readiness list together with the priority order and develop the collection and loading schedule on the weekly basis;
• Send inquiries to the logistics services providers;
• Compare the quotes and award  the orders to the logistics service providers, based on cost/lead time/vehicle type etc., with goods insurance GIT being in line with total commercial value on invoices;
• Complete and send the loading instructions to the awarded logistics service providers;
• Manage and prepare for the shipping documents, including commercial invoice, packing list, product quality/test conformity certificate document, MSDS, TDS etc, together with the information such as Country of Origin, HS Tariff Export Code etc.;
• BV inspection arrangement for DRC destined goods;
• SADC certificate arrangement for Zambian destined goods;
• Manage receiving the Pre Alert Documents from the logistics company and sending the same to the clients;
• Manage the shipment tracking and send the tracking report to the clients on the daily basis;
• Communicate with the clients, their customs clearance agent and logistics service provider to solve the possible truck standing and demurrage issues;
• Manage the collection of PoDs (Proof of Delivery);
• Manage the goods insurance;
• Manage and prepare the payment request for the logistics service providers
• Manage and prepare the payment request for the goods insurance premium
• Provide the monthly logistics cost forecast internally in the beginning of the month
• Prepare and provide the UCR numbers for accountant on the monthly basis
• Inventory Planning, control and management
• Warehousing arrangement
• Packaging and Storage;
