We are looking for a Logistics Planner in our Brakpan Depot, who is well organised and proactive, with a strong understanding of transport planning and client service. Experience in logistics, especially within refrigerated transport, is a strong advantage.

Your areas of responsibility:
- Administrate and manage core operational tasks including the processing of sales orders, load confirmations and daily turnover
- Contact all active clients daily to confirm their vehicle and transport requirements, and schedule available fleet accordingly
- Record all loads accurately on our internal system, ensuring all required details are captured
- Issue clear loading and unloading instructions to Logistics Coordinators and drivers, ensuring the correct vehicle is assigned and all requirements are understood
- Monitor loading progress via the Logistics Coordinators and proactively communicate any delays, changes, or non-conformances to the client
- Ensure that the company fleet is fully and efficiently utilised to meet both client expectations and operational goals
- When internal vehicles are unavailable, arrange for vetted subcontractors and ensure all load confirmations and terms are shared prior to loading
- Oversee the subcontracted loads with the same diligence and quality standards as internal fleet operations
- Communicate planned vehicle returns to the depot and coordinate with the technical team to schedule necessary maintenance or servicing
- Liaise with Fleet Administrators to relay any cross hooks, mechanical issues or driver concerns as they arise
- Escalate all non-conformances to the Operations Manager in a timely and detailed manner
Skills Requirements:
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage and prioritise multiple tasks
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for client and team interaction
- High attention to detail, especially in tracking and recording load data
- Effective problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Knowledge of logistics planning and fleet operations
Requirements:
- 2 to 4 years of experience in a transport/logistics planning or operations support role
- Experience in refrigerated transport is advantageous
- A relevant tertiary qualification is advantageous
- Code 8 Driver’s License
