Eersterivier / Tsitsikamma AreaÃ¢Â€Â“ EC: An exciting opportunity awaits a semi-retired couple to run this exquisite small eco, tourism farm right on the spectacular coastline (self-catering accommodation)

POSITION INFO:

Fit, strong and healthy
Love of the sea, fauna and flora
Hospitality orientated
Ideal age 58-65 years

Duties, including but not limited to:

- Manage and maintain the 18-hectare property. With the assistance of Cliff the employee...amongst other things: control alien plants, re-establish fynbos and forest, maintain and mow pathways, maintain access road, protect wildlife from stray dogs and snaring, maintain water and electrical infrastructure, keep the beach clean by regularly collecting the plastic which washes up here, etc

- Maintain the buildings, furnishings, and fittings

- Manage the bookings and tourism business. Regarding the latter, this involves brief interaction with guests on arrival and just before departure and limited but friendly interaction during their stay, basically informing them of the activities on offer both on site and in the general area.

- Manage the two-general staff, ensuring that they are both productive and meticulous especially with regard to the cleanliness of the accommodation units

- Housekeeping: check on stocks in the units, like coffee, tea, toilet paper, cleaning materials etc

- Prepare month end Petty Cash recon schedule, Vehicle schedule, Salary schedule, and Commission schedule, all on Excel spreadsheets. Management is expected to use their own vehicle for taking garbage to the dump and for runs to town to buy supplies etc. Management will be compensated per km for this. Where a trip to town is partly for private purposes and partly for company business the cost is to be shared on a pro-rata basis
