MECHANICAL ENGINEER

Are you passionate about engineering, a natural problem solver with strong leadership skills, then our client is looking for you to join their engineering team in providing various site maintenance services.

BASIC JOB DESCRIPTION
Perform and develop engineering design calculations in accordance with various design codes.
Design custom engineering enclosures to encapsulate complex geometries.
Provide engineering expertise and knowledge where needed to develop repair plans and facilitate said plans to the clients.
Provide training for technicians and ensure that all work is conducted safely and in accordance with Companies quality standards.
Site inspections of leaks and piping defects, including accurate site measurements and AutoCAD drawings of leaking equipment.
Draw and develop 3D models on Autodesk Inventor.
Produce various reports for clients, business partners as well as HO (safety, job progress, analytical reports, stock usage, etc.).
Provide technical support to our machinists and manufacturing team.
Locate areas of improvement and propose corrective actions that meet challenges and leverage growth opportunities.
Conducting safety inspections and risk assessments and ensuring compliance with relevant health and safety legislation

REQUIRED MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
BSc. / B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
3 years’ minimum experience working as a mechanical engineer with knowledge of various pressure vessel design codes ASME VIII, Div. 1, ASME B Series, BS and EN vessel design codes.
2 years minimum working in a petrochemical environment.
Experience in mechanical drafting on AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor.
Knowledge of materials and failure mechanisms (piping reliability, corrosion mechanisms, etc.).
Strong written and verbal communication in English.
Able to work in a culturally diverse work environment and ensure communication is clear to all parties involved.
Able to work long hours where required to ensure jobs are completed and facility down-time is minimized.
Experience in MS Office compulsory. MS Excel is specifically important.
Strong communication and management skills.
Excellent organizational, time management and planning skills.

ADVANTAGES
1-2 years’ experience working in a production environment (site- based work).
Strong knowledge in oil & gas / petrochemical environments.
Knowledge of FEAs.
Experience with PV Elite.
Knowledge of composites.
