POSITION INFO:
Critical Competencies for an MIS Administrator Technician

Basic Fundamentals of System Administration and Software Engineering
Basic understanding of Plant Automation, PLC and Scada systems (OT environment)
Basic A+ Proficiency
Database management systems
Software development
Reporting services
Analysis systems and tools
Business Intelligence
Computer hardware and software
Expert with Microsoft products: Office, SQL and Microsoft Reporting Services.

Critical Skills for an MIS Administrator Technician

Implementation of Software engineering best practises in solutions product development
Troubleshooting and maintenance of Industrial information systems hardware and software
Flexibility to work with different Applications software, in the MIS field
Developing programs to process text files into the database and extract from it
Good written and spoken communication skills; and an ability to write good technical reports
Adaptable to work as a self-managing work team member
Punctual and self-disciplined
Consistent Safety compliant workmanship
Consistent Quality workmanship
Agile and driven with on-time bottom-line delivery
Microsoft development packages- MSSQL
Understanding of plant automation and control

Qualification

Matric (Grade 12)
National Diploma/ BSc/BA: Information Technology: Computer Science or related
Professional certification (e.g. Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA))

Experience

Min 3-5 years working experience in a relevant field
Proven working experience as an IT / OT Administrator, System Administrator or relevant experience
Experience with databases, networks (LAN, WAN), patch management and cloud technologies
Ability to create scripts in VB.net, HTML, Microsoft SQL Server, SSRS, A+ or other language
Internet security and data privacy principles
Excellent problem-solving and multitasking skills
Expert in Computer hardware: PC’s, Servers and VM etc.
Experience with Microsoft Active directory Domain controllers
Experience with VMWARE virtual technologies and backup methods
Beneficial experience on Linux systems like Kubernetes
Beneficial experience Network infrastructure, Network Setup and Fire-Wall configurations
