My client is a well-established and respected player in the civil and mechanical construction industry, specialising in water and wastewater treatment infrastructure, including pump stations, filtration systems, reservoirs, and pipelines. With a strong reputation for delivering complex, high-value projects, they are seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to join their team in the Free State.

Job Description

You Will:

Plan, schedule, and manage construction projects from inception to completion
Coordinate with engineers, architects, suppliers, subcontractors, and stakeholders
Manage budgets, timelines, procurement, and resource allocation
Monitor site activities, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards
Prepare progress reports and handle documentation for internal and external parties
Oversee contract management and ensure adherence to GCC, FIDIC, or similar frameworks
Identify and mitigate project risks and develop contingency plans

Qualifications

BSc / BTech / Diploma Mechanical or Civil Engineering
ECSA and/or SACPCMP registration (preferred or to be obtained within the first year)
Valid driver’s license
Proficient in MS Projects and MS Office Suite

Skills

Strong background in construction of wastewater and water treatment works, pump stations, and pipelines
Experience with FIDIC, GCC, JBCC and CIDB regulations
Quality assurance and control experience essential
Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills
Previous experience at companies such as Murray & Roberts, SAME, PCI International, or Agendal is advantageous
