SUMMARY:

A leading engineering organisation based in Gauteng is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager with a strong mechanical engineering background. The ideal candidate will hold a Mechanical Engineering degree and have a minimum of five years’ management experience. Experience in water desalination plants and power plant operations will be highly advantageous.

POSITION INFO:

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee and manage all maintenance operations across assigned facilities
Lead and develop maintenance teams to ensure optimal performance
Implement preventive and predictive maintenance strategies
Ensure all mechanical systems and machinery operate efficiently and safely
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues on-site
Manage budgets, maintenance schedules, and performance reports
Collaborate with operations teams to minimise downtime and improve efficiency
Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements
Oversee contractors, service providers, and major repair projects

Requirements:

Mechanical Engineering Degree (BEng / BSc / Equivalent)
Minimum of five years’ management experience in a maintenance environment
Experience with water desalination plants and power plants is preferred
Strong leadership, planning, and organisational skills
Solid knowledge of mechanical systems, machinery, and plant operations
Ability to manage multiple projects and work under pressure
Excellent problemâsolving and decisionâmaking abilities
Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel when required
