SUMMARY:
Are you a hands-on Maintenance Manager with a passion for operational excellence, preventative maintenance, and exceptional customer service? We are looking for an experienced professional to oversee the maintenance operations of premium student accommodation facilities, ensuring a safe, compliant, and well-maintained environment for residents.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities Manage all day-to-day maintenance operations across the property. Execute preventative and reactive maintenance within required service levels. Supervise maintenance staff, cleaning teams, security personnel and external contractors. Ensure buildings, student rooms and common areas are maintained to the highest standard. Manage maintenance budgets, stock control and purchasing. Coordinate contractors, quotations and work completion. Conduct daily, weekly, monthly and annual inspections. Ensure compliance with Occupational Health & Safety regulations and building standards. Maintain maintenance records, reports and job tracking systems. Manage maintenance stores, tools and inventory. Support annual student vacate and intake projects. Ensure all maintenance work is completed safely, efficiently and cost-effectively. Minimum Requirements Grade 12 (Matric). Recognised Trade Qualification (Artisan qualification preferred). 5-8 years' maintenance experience within facilities, property management, hospitality, student accommodation, residential or similar environments. Experience supervising maintenance teams and contractors. Strong knowledge of: General building maintenance Plumbing Electrical maintenance Carpentry Painting Air-conditioning and refrigeration basics Knowledge of preventative maintenance programmes. Understanding of maintenance stock control and inventory management. Familiarity with Occupational Health & Safety legislation. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (particularly Excel). Experience using maintenance management systems will be advantageous.
