Maintenance Manager

SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Factory Manager our client is seeking a Manager that is strong in Maintenance Management strategies (Preventative, predictive and asset registers).

POSITION INFO:

In the process ensure that customer deliveries are met On Time and In Full at the cost-effective manufacturing cost with the right quality first time.  Further to ensure that the optimum productive value and life of all fixed moveable assets at the facility. In addition, you will be required to manage the performance and conduct of the artisans, maintenance contractors and 3^rd party maintenance service providers.

Qualifications

Matric (Grade 12) or recognized equivalent qualification.

Appropriate tertiary qualification in maintenance management/engineering.

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum 10 years’ experience within a Manufacturing/production related facility
• Must understand LEAN principles.
• Must have strong technical / engineering problem-solving abilities
• Knowledge of Corporate Governance Principles applicable to procurement processes.
• Knowledge of BCEA, MEIBC Main Agreement and LRA
• Knowledge of the OHS Act
• Knowledge of ERP Systems, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & MS Access)

Key Result Areas:                                                                           

• Ensure that a GMR 2.1 is appointed in terms of OHASA, 1993 Section 8,9,10,12, and 13
• Supports and participates in the implementation and Continuous Improvement of the Production System.
• Incorporates and maintains safety observances, and promoting good daily safety practices
• Manage OEE Downtime Buckets to within set Operational Excellence target levels.
• Implement and manage Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) program
• Plan and implement routine preventative maintenance tasks to ensure optimum machine performance/condition and maximized production runtime.
• Plan for and ensure that maintenance tasks and machine service requirements are performed on an ongoing basis throughout the year.
• Maintain buildings and site, and all other fixed and moveable assets in optimum condition.
• Compile annual budgets detailing maintenance costs. Monitor and control expenditure ensuring adherence to budgetary targets.
• Ensure engineering expertise is provided around required machine operating parameters, tooling, and related manufacturing processes in compliance
• Manage 3^rd party maintenance service providers in terms of safety, cost, quality & service.
• Provide service excellence and promote a sense of teamwork, personal responsibility and ownership within your department
• Identify and submit justifications for capital expenditure projects and implement approved projects through to successful completion
• Raising of purchase requisitions (online and manual) for maintenance related items.
• Communicate effectively at all levels, submit accurate reports as and when required.
• Ensure that all areas under your jurisdiction adhere to the OHS Act and the company’s international safety standards.
• A key player in setting up the group policy
• Actively involved in the root cause analysis of the incidents
• Actively involved in the Risk assessment
