Our client is seeking a Maintenance Planner to ensure optimal equipment reliability and plant performance by proactively planning, scheduling, and coordinating all maintenance activities. The Maintenance Planner plays a pivotal role in minimizing downtime, improving asset longevity, and driving continuous improvement across maintenance operations.

POSITION INFO:

🎯 Key Responsibilities

1. Maintenance Planning & Scheduling

• Develop and manage preventive and predictive maintenance schedules.
• Prioritize and sequence work orders using the CMMS.
• Coordinate with production and maintenance teams to minimize operational disruptions.
• Ensure availability of required tools, spares, and documentation before execution.

2. Job Card & CMMS Administration

• Create, assign, and close job cards with complete technical documentation.
• Maintain accurate records for compliance, audits, and performance analysis.
• Monitor job completion, quality, and follow-up actions.

3. Technical Documentation & SOPs

• Draft and update work instructions, SOPs, and safety protocols.
• Maintain version control and ensure accessibility of documents.
• Facilitate training sessions to embed best practices among technicians.

4. Reliability & Improvement Projects

• Lead or support initiatives to reduce downtime and maintenance costs.
• Analyze failure trends and recommend corrective actions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement engineering solutions.

5. Performance Monitoring & Reporting

• Track KPIs such as MTBF, MTTR, and equipment availability.
• Generate weekly/monthly reports with actionable insights.
• Highlight chronic issues and propose long-term solutions.

🧠 Required Qualifications & Experience

• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years’ experience in a maintenance planning role within a manufacturing or automotive environment.
• Physically fit and medically cleared for industrial environments.
• Proven ability to work independently and under pressure.

💻 Technical Skills

• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Experience with CMMS platforms (e.g., SAP PM, Pragma, or similar).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
