Maintenance Supervisor

SUMMARY:
Join this large logistics company and utilise your management skills. Requirements include a diesel or petrol mechanic qualification, at least 5 years workshop supervisory experience as well as a code 14 and valid PDP license. Must also be literate on MS Office.

POSITION INFO:
Requirements:  

• Must be a qualified petrol or diesel mechanic
• Min 5 years’ workshop supervisory experience
• Must have Code 14 with Valid PDP
• Computer literate – MS office
• Hands on Mechanical experience and knowledge
• Can work under pressure
• Able to handle conflict and able to relate and build relationships with all staff

• Supervising all workshop staff on a daily basis:
• Ensuring that staff report for duty on time.
• Ensuring staff complete their full shift before leaving for duty at either 17h00, 19h00 or 21h00 (as per work shift roster
• Managing staff overtime on a daily basis.
• Ensuring all required duties of the workshop staff are performed.  
• Putting measures in place to ensure productivity requirements for the workshop staff are met.
• Managing and controlling job cards daily.
• Ordering and controlling parts required by the workshop·        
• Managing parts store i.e. booking in stock, booking outstock etc. at the workshop.
• Ensuring mechanical breakdowns are reported and executed timeously.
• Managing and booking services according to schedules.·        
• Ensuring services done are completed timeously and comply with the standards
• Ensuring pre-trip inspections are executed
• Responsible for planning, leading, organizing, and supervising the day to day activities of the workshop and staff and controlling the quality of repairs.
• Planning and Implementing preventive maintenance and delegating specific tasks to concerned section/staff/mechanic.       
• Supervising and following up on actual progress of each Individual repair job.
• Evaluating the training requirements of subordinates and discussing /arranging training needs with the HOD.
• Attending the Weekly Departmental Meeting
• Conducting a final check on all vehicles / trailers prior to being released by the workshop.
• Conducting annual performance appraisal of all direct subordinates.
