Our client is a South African provider of temperature-controlled storage and logistics services, specializing in the Cold Chain market.
POSITION INFO:
The main purpose of this position : is to fill the complete maintenance function of the entire facility, this will include but not limited to the monitoring and reporting of the refrigeration systems, maintenance of the sub-ambient facilities, management and control of assets, building upkeep to ensure a safe and compliant operational functionality of the site while remaining within budget

Qualification:
Minimum: N4 - Matric (NQF)
Preferred: N5 – N6 (Electrical, Mechanical, Refrigeration)
Red seal certified. Millwright Matric
Experience:
Minimum: 5 years with preferred qualification.
10 years without the preferred qualification.
Preferred: +5 years with preferred qualification with Red Seal certification
Accreditations/ Registered bodies
- Red seal certification (E/Seta)
- CAT A valid accreditation

Other:Medical fit with clear criminal record.
Technical Competencies Knowledge- Operational infrastructure maintenance: Mobile Racking, Loading Docks and temperature seal doors and walling.
- Extensive knowledge and experience with (MHE) Material handling equipment
- Extensive knowledge of Ammonia refrigeration system
- Extensive electrical three phase and single-phase knowledge
- General Building Maintenance: Plumbing, Painting, and Plastering.
- Extensive knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety rules, requirements, lockouts, tagout and risk assessme
Skills:- Computer Literate (Outlook, Excel), working with computer maintenance management systems (CMMS), Programable logic controller (PLC)

ResponsibilitiesEFFECTIVE MONITORING AND REPORTING OF REFRIGERATION SYSTEMS - Inspect the plant daily.
- Check the service detail preventative sheets.
- Repair any scheduled and un-scheduled repairs.
- Calibrate and verify the measuring equipment.
- Record and document all the activities events and concerns.
UPKEEP AND MAINTAIN BUILDING AND FACILITIES - Check and inspect all the preventative maintenance.
Scheduled and un-scheduled mid- and minor repairs.

- Arrange and report on major maintenance projects.

FULL MAINTENANCE OF THE SUB AMBIENT FACILITY - Draft and implement the Preventative Maintenance schedule.
- Execute emergencies, un-scheduled maintenance.
- Attend repairs in accordance with planning and maintenance schedules.
- Manage the contractors and scheduling.
- Report on and plan for all preventative maintenance activities.
ASSET MANAGEMENT AND CONTROL- Maintain and report on asset register.
- Stock take of equipment and assets.
- Inspect equipment and assets.
- Replenish and replace assets in accordance with budget.
MAINTAIN AND ADHERE TO ALL AUDIT PREPARATION AND COMMUNICATION- Maintain and administer all preventive maintenance checklists.
- Compile and file all relevant documentation for audits.
- Ensure facility is compliant with all food safety regulations.
- Attend audit meetings and actual audits.
- Lead and accommodate auditors upon visit.
- Report and attend to any findings or concerns.
- Eliminate any non-conformities that might lead to audit failure.
ASSURANCE OF SAFETY AND COMPLIANCE OF REGULATION STIPULATIONS.- Maintain and report on asset register.

- Ensure systems are in place and active to prevent energy wastage.
- Report any deviations from strategy immediately.
- Ensure continuous improvement and monitoring for possible actions to be put in place.
ADHERE TO AND MAINTAIN MAINTENANCE BUDGET.- Assist with cost indications and budgetary calculations.
- Inform Group Maintenance specialist and cold store manager of possible adjustments on budgets.
- Procure quotations for as hoc parts and equipment for authorization.
- Comply with budgetary measures.
- Update budget reports accurately.
