One of South Africa's Banking Giants is looking for a Manager, Credit Risk Oversight to join their team.

POSITION INFO:
About the Role
As a Manager, Credit Risk Oversight, you will play a crucial role within the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) structure, reporting directly to senior leadership. This position is integral to the Credit Team in Business Banking (BBs) and Retail, ensuring the seamless connection of all risk-related dots across various sectors, including retail, AVA finance, and business banking.

Key Responsibilities

Provide oversight and leadership in managing credit risk across both business banking and retail sectors.
Collaborate with senior management, including the Chief Risk Officer (CRO) and the Head of Enterprise Risk, to align risk strategies and operational goals.
Ensure comprehensive risk management and governance frameworks are in place, adhering to group-level standards.
Work closely with the Credit Team to oversee and enhance credit modelling and risk assessment processes.
Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and risk awareness.
Engage with the collection’s teams to streamline first-line risk-taking strategies.

About You
To excel in this role, you should have:

A minimum of 8 to 10 years of experience in credit risk management, with a strong background in quantitative analysis and credit modelling.
A solid understanding of the financial sector, particularly in business banking and retail.
Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to connect and influence at all levels of the organization.
A proactive and innovative mindset, always looking for ways to enhance our risk management framework.
A proven track record of successfully managing and mitigating credit risk within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
