Role Overview
The Manager: Salesforce Architect leads the end-to-end architecture, strategy, and optimisation of the Salesforce platform. This role is responsible for designing scalable, secure, and high-performance Salesforce solutions, driving platform governance, and ensuring alignment with business and technology roadmaps.
This position requires deep Salesforce Architecture expertise, advanced development experience, strong API integration capabilities, and a proven track record in delivering enterprise-level Salesforce implementations.
Key Responsibilities Architecture & Strategy
- Owns the Salesforce platform architecture, technical vision, and multi-year roadmap.
- Designs scalable, secure, high-availability Salesforce solutions aligned with enterprise architecture.
- Evaluates Salesforce features, AppExchange apps, integrations, and cloud technologies to drive innovation.
- Ensures compliance with best practices for architecture, security, performance, and governance.
- Partners with leadership to align Salesforce strategy with business objectives.
Salesforce Development
- Develops Apex classes, triggers, Lightning Web Components, Visualforce pages, and reusable components.
- Builds integrations using Salesforce REST, SOAP, and external APIs.
- Implements and maintains DevOps pipelines, CI/CD processes, and Infrastructure as Code.
- Manages version control (Git), code reviews, deployment processes, and sandbox management.
- Develops automated tests, test data, and regression testing scripts.
Analysis & Planning
- Translates business requirements into robust technical solutions.
- Contributes to sprint planning, user story refinement, estimation, and technical documentation.
- Conducts research on emerging Salesforce and cloud technologies.
- Leads root-cause analysis, solution design sessions, and system troubleshooting.
- Tracks work through JIRA and maintains up-to-date system documentation.
Quality, Compliance & Delivery
- Ensures solutions meet medical device regulatory standards (FDA, CE, ISO) and SOC2 requirements.
- Delivers high-quality, well-tested, performance-optimised Salesforce applications.
- Completes code reviews, validation checks, and pre-deployment testing.
- Ensures all work aligns with QMS processes and internal IT standards.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Leads Salesforce technical decision-making across teams.
- Provides guidance, mentoring, and best-practice coaching to developers.
- Collaborates effectively with stakeholders, product owners, analysts, and cross-functional teams.
- Drives continuous improvement in architecture, development standards, and DevOps practices.
Required Qualifications & Experience Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or similar.
- Salesforce Architect Certification (System, Application, or Technical Architect).
Experience
- 7+ years Salesforce development and architecture experience.
- Proven experience designing and implementing complex Salesforce solutions.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git-based workflows, and DevOps automation.
- Track record of delivering Salesforce integrations and API-driven architectures.
