JOB SUMMARY:
International Telecommunications company seeking a Manager, Site Acquisition to join their growing team! As a Manager, Site Acquisition, responsibilities include managing the activities of the Site Acquisition & Documentation team in South Africa, proper database design and management for all Site Acquisition data. Develop strategies to optimize lease/acquisition budget for the technical function.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Responsibilities include:

Development of SAQ reporting strategy for project. Maintaining SAQ database with lease and purchase benchmarks
Developing market intelligence, report the same to Line and Functional Manager and define strategy to meet the challenges
Promoting a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality
Mentoring and developing staff using a supportive and collaborative approach: assign accountabilities; set objectives; establish priorities; and monitor and evaluate results
Providing mentoring to all subordinates
Lead employees to encourage maximum performance and dedication
Ensuring all teams are practicing the principles of collaboration, prioritization, team accountability and visibility
Providing input into landlord discussions with Legal/ Community Relations as required
Accountability for all SAQ activities between Site Allocation and ITP issuance and to support through the lifecycle of the site build up to final acceptance
Accountability for the determination of the quality control management program and implementing the program within the responsibility of site acquisition
Ensuring that the set targets are achieved within the defined timelines and periodical review for the assigned location
Providing accurate and concise reports and data for all sites acquired and in progress in the assigned location
Supporting SBC to acquire difficult locations and advise Senior Manager, Capital Projects on possible solutions to these sites
Supporting with the budgeting, supervision and delivery of sites under acquisition
Performing risk management on site acquisition
Ensuring SBCs compliance with all Legal/Regulatory rules. Follow up and track submittals of all required permits (environmental, council, aviation, agriculture, etc.)
Overseeing the activities of the SAQ & Documentation team
Providing feedback and focus to all team members
Serving as a change management agent representing the Rollout Organization with the SAQ functional team and responsibilities
Guiding and coach junior or new members in the SAQ team

Qualifications and Experience required:

1st degree in Telecommunication Engineering or related discipline
Masterâs degree in an engineering or related field and/ or an MBA would be advantageous
Professional certifications such as PMP or PRINCE2 would be advantageous

Upwards of 14 yearsâ experience in Telecoms Program management
