SUMMARY:
A company at the top of their game with a focus on facilitating loans, requires an MD: Funding to join the senior management team immediately
POSITION INFO:
Work closely with the CEO & COO of the group to define a strategy for the funding division to ensure effective contribution to the business.
The role will draw on your experience within a funding / credit / banking environment, as well credit / lending / debt structuring. Having knowledge of Sectional Title Act, Gated Communities, Sectional Title Ownership, Home Owner Associations, Bodies Corporate will have you with one foot in the door.
Minimum requirements:
Essential:
- BCom in Finance / Business Management
- Minimum 10 years’ experience of which 5 must be at senior management level within a funding / credit / banking environment
- Credit / lending / debt structuring experience
- Advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge (financial modelling, analysis & transaction structuring)
Advantageous:
- Knowledge of Sectional Title Act, Gated Communities, Sectional Title Ownership, Home Owner Associations, Bodies Corporate
- MBA
Duties & responsibilities:
- Develop strategic policies & tactical procedures to promote & enhance the groups funding operations.
- Proactively participate in identifying new solutions, product & markets, that includes strategic partnerships with existing & new service providers.
- Contribute to, manage & implement digital strategies for seamless transition into 4IR.
- Drive value for the business by improving service delivery, enhanced client experience, managing complexity & change, assessing risk, & balancing strategy & execution with the desired level of business performance.
- Cross selling & team collaboration across all areas of the group & associate businesses.
- Support, co-ordinate & manage the Funding Operations Manager & staff & oversee the operational functioning of staff on a day-to-day basis.
- Lead special projects to ensure effective implementation thereof.
- Risk analysis, reporting & recommend solutions to mitigate risks.
- Work closely with the Governance & Compliance Heads to ensure adherence to lending principles & compliance.
- Core member of the Credit Committee & strong decision-making capabilities within agreed parameters & risk appetite.
- Oversee & co-ordinate loan refinancing structures, collection strategies (in conjunction with the CEO & Chief Legal Officer) & loan proposals.
- Effectively manage the loan / claim book, including cradle to grave facilitation process (capital raise, deployment of capital & repayment of capital).
- Work closely with CEO, COO & staff on all capital raise projects & initiatives.
- Oversee, co-ordinate & manage business processes to ensure high standard of service delivery (including continuous engagement with capital raise partners).
- Managing/coaching junior staff on discharge of deliverables.
- Provide key strategies & clarity to a portfolio of clients, so as to maintain key relationships.
- Provide management oversight of third-party vendors & service providers for the funding operations.
- Serve as subject matter expert on funding activities throughout the company, the market & competitor analysis & reporting.
- Collaborate with various divisions on shared or associated projects, priorities & strategies.
- Periodically review current policies, procedures & systems as well as oversee that the necessary changes are made to ensure an effective & competitive operating environment.
- Ensure cost effectiveness of all funding processes.
- Review, take ownership & responsibility & sign-off on outgoing payments.
- Reporting & presentation on funding activity to MANCO & EXCO, to include monthly reporting on the general health, growth & management of the lending book.
- Ensure adherence to all applicable laws, regulations & directives in addition to company policies & standard operating procedures.
- Strong knowledge of laws, regulations, developments & trends in the lending industry & maintain expertise in internal policies & procedures.
- Provide guidance to staff fostering an environment that encourages employee participation, engagement, teamwork & communication. Introduce & lead a high-performance culture within the team to meet objectives & deadlines imposed.
- Develop service culture & build relationships, propose innovations & allow others to provide exceptional client service.
- Through analytical business thinking translate strategies into actionable goals & execute relevant projects / initiatives aligned to strategic objectives with specific performance measures & control systems to track progress.
- Continue to monitor team engagement & support remedial action.

Remuneration & benefits:
- R 760 000 – R 840 000 CTC
