SUMMARY:
A well-known Multinational Industrial and Material Handling Equipment Company requires the above to be responsible for providing strategic, financial and operational leadership for the Company working closely with the Board of Directors and Senior Leadership Team in driving and guiding it towards long-term success.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum requirements for the role:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Business or a related qualification as well as an MBA is preferred.
  • Previous experience having worked as a Managing Director ideally within the materials handling or related industry where the successful candidate will oversee all sales, operational, rental, after service etc. disciplines within this Business.
  • The successful candidate should have the ability to train, develop and manage large Executive Teams.
  • The successful candidate must have leadership skills, with steadfast resolve and personal integrity as well as excellent people skills, business acumen and exemplary work ethics.
  • The successful candidate must have an understanding of advanced business planning and regulatory issues.
  • The successful candidate should demonstrable competency in strategic planning and business development as well as have a solid grasp of data analysis and performance metrics.
  • Previous experience in developing profitable strategies and implementing vision is essential.
  • The successful candidate must have in-depth knowledge of corporate governance and general management best practices.
  • Previous experience having implemented an ERP system is preferred.
  • The successful candidate should continually drive effective results and communicate effectively at all levels.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Planning, developing, implementing and directing the Organisation’s operational and fiscal function and performance.
  • Developing credibility and authority for the finance leadership team by providing accurate analysis of budgets, reports and financial trends and operational procedures in order to assist the Board of Directors and Senior Executive Team.
  • Providing expert financial guidance and advice to others within Executive Leadership.
  • Working with the Finance Team to develop a solid cash flow projection and reporting mechanism, which includes setting a minimum cash threshold to meet operating needs.
  • Evaluating the Company’s financial, operational, and sales and marketing structures to plan for continual improvements and a continual increase of operating efficiencies.
  • Overseeing all operations and business activities to ensure they produce the desired results and are consistent with the overall strategy and mission.
  • Acting as a strategic partner by developing and implementing the Company’s plans and programmes.
  • Analysing and making recommendation on the impact of long-range growth initiatives, planning, and introduction of new strategies and regulatory actions.
  • Providing strategic input and leadership on decision making issues affecting the Organisation; specifically relating to the evaluation of potential mergers, acquisitions or partnerships.
  • Communicating effectively and establishing credibility throughout the Organisation and with the Board of Directors as an effective developer of solutions to business challenges.
  • Improving the planning and budgeting process on a continual basis by educating departments and key members of corporate leadership.
  • Acting as a Strategic Advisor and Consultant offering expert advice on contracts, negotiations or business deals that the corporation may enter into.
  • Developing high quality business strategies and plans ensuring their alignment with short-term and long-term objectives.
  • Analysing problematic situations and occurrences and providing solutions to ensure Company survival and growth.
  • Mentoring and interacting with members of staff at all levels to foster growth and encourage development among Senior Executive Team and all members of staff.  
  • Making high-quality investing decisions to advance the Business and increase profits.
  • Enforcing adherence to legal guidelines and in-house policies to maintain the Company’s legality and business ethics.
  • Building trust relations with Key Partners and Stakeholders and acting as a point of contact for important shareholders.

Salary package, including benefits, is highly negotiable depending on experience gained.
