Market Area Manager - Mining (Pump Industry)

SUMMARY:
Market Area Manager Mining required for our Client, a global leader in the pump industry to manage this sector porfolio.  The role will be based on the East Rand and candidates are required to have the relevant product experience combined with a Bachelor's degree (or similar) in mechanical engineering.  Mining sales experience is essential for the role.

POSITION INFO:
Purpose of Role: Drive the strategic growth and consolidation of the Client's market share in the Southern African mining sector through effective market analysis, customer engagement and competitive positioning. Enhance customer satisfaction and technical service delivery by providing consistent support, training and product awareness across key regions. Maintain strong collaboration with internal teams, dealers and engineering partners to support new project development and optimise product performance. Promote operational excellence through accurate data management, timely reporting and continual process improvements aligned with company standards. In addition to these functions, the incumbent is required to carry out such other duties as may be reasonably required. Key Accountabilities: Establish Addressable Market and the Client's market share in the Southern African mining sector, devising and implementing strategies to grow and consolidate market presence. Establish regional sales targets and budgets and monitor performance against these targets and budgets. Develop, maintain and expand the customer mining base across Southern Africa. Arrange and confirm customer visits, presenting the Client's products and assisting clients with onsite system upgrades and troubleshooting. Deliver continuous training and technical support to the Client's staff, dealers and mining clients using pump selection software. Manage and grow sales of the Client's products, including pump trials, new materials and aftermarket spares supported by site audits to map the installed base. Gather and report market intelligence on competitors to support development of more competitive business strategies. Motivate and manage staff to ensure high technical support standards and timely completion of duties and objectives. Maintain up-to-date records in the Client's system including customer data, projects, tenders and follow-ups. Education: Grade 12 \/ Matric or equivalent qualification. Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Experience: 8-10 years' experience in Pump Sales Management within the mining industry. Proven experience in slurry pump applications and mining operations. Strong technical understanding of pumping systems and related applications. Experience with Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) projects. Ability to analyse and develop complex pumping solutions. Tender preparation, costing and contract management experience. Demonstrated success in business development, sales growth and key account management.
