Marketing Communications Lead

SUMMARY:
Our client based in Johannesburg northern suburbs is seeking a Marketing Communications Lead with a proven track record for creative excellence in strategic program development and execution. Your overall goal will be to improve employee and customer engagement and drive industry awareness of the brands current and prospective customers, competitors, trade and business media, industry analysts and other key constituents.

Responsibilities:
Strategy Development –

• Conduct a thorough analysis of company’s current communications landscape across all operating companies (internal communications, customer communications, public relations, investor relations and social media).
• Develop and implement a communications strategy that will deliver on the key business objectives.
• Develop strategic paid media plan to support and boost earned media presence.
• Oversee and allocate the annual communications budget and ensure its use is fully maximised.
• Use communications technology to boost productivity

• Develop and manage relationships with key media players to secure and grow earned media online and offline coverage
• Craft and distribute press releases and media pitches
• Coordinate and manage media interviews and inquiries
• Identify, pitch and leverage speaking opportunities
• Clean-up and maintain press portals across third party sites
• Maintain press portal on Website

• Create and maintain content calendar for internal communications, customer communications, public relations, investor relations and social media.
• Maintain corporate collateral and proof points across the group using in-house design and writing resources.
• Manage the development of compelling content for the various channels using our in-house design and writing resources.
• Ensure content aligns with the overall communications strategy and brand messaging.

• Provide community management across all of companies’ channels.
• Leverage in-house shared service ensure all content is scheduled for publication.
• Monitor activity and consult on opportunities and ways to engage with communities.
• Create and manage executive profiling across 10 x executives for the Group – this includes a monthly content calendar crafted for the executive in line with Group content strategy.

• Develop a crisis communication plan.
• Provide real-time support and guidance during crises.

• Generate regular reports on PR campaign performance.
• Analyse data and provide insights for continuous improvement.
