We are recruiting a Marketing Manager for a dynamic distribution company that supplies premium audio visual, automation, and other lifestyle products to the South African and Sub-Saharan markets. They carry the best brands that the world has to offer, ensuring quality and performance.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Broad Description of responsibilities:
This dynamic role relies on the ability to manage and grow the brands. This is a team
role responsible for coordinating with all relevant departments from senior management, sales,
technical and warehousing, to achieve the successful implementation of the marketing objectives

Job Objective
Lead yourself, the team, and associated brands.
Develop and execute the brand strategies (with the team) for the full portfolio and implement approved strategies in the market
Ensure ROI objectives are tracked and achieved

Task Description

Develop and execute the brand’s marketing plans and strategies, with a focus on profitability, category insights, brand/category building, and insight
Manage budgets appropriately
Lead brand positioning, brand architecture, brand plan development, and pricing strategies
Ensure consistent interpretation of brand objectives and strategies amongst key internal and external stakeholders
Develop and implement effective promotional plans based on insights, trends and key focus areas to help drive profitable growth
Ensure brilliant brand execution with relevant ROI per activity
Prioritise key activities to drive the business objectives
Ensure effective use of mediums for communication
Develop a deep understanding of the market, and consumer preferences within your categories and markets, ensuring all brand and marketing activities are rooted in the category and consumer insight and complemented by a solid understanding of the market and competitor dynamics
Report on brand marketing performance, relative to the competition, identify corrective actions, and directly manage marketing budget to ensure excellence
Ensure the right agencies and suppliers are in place to deliver on the brand plans, monitoring delivery and performance, and intervening/escalating when issues arise
Build strong partnerships with agencies and suppliers and ensure they are thoroughly immersed in the market, product categories, and the brand world
Work closely with Agency partners to ensure the digital strategy and execution are aligned to Category Marketing plans and strategies
Oversee the brand's social media strategy
Ensure the Brand CIs are in place and all communication developed is consistent with brand message and look and feel
Partner with sales team to ensure activity plans and material developed is suited to target customers and their retail environment

Minimum Requirements:

3 to 4 years B Comm/marketing degree or equivalent marketing qualification
Min 4 years marketing experience
Sales experience advantageous
Mature individual
Manage a team effectively
Good communication skills
Planning and project management
Sound decision-making ability
Skilled problem solver
Operational and execution excellence
Results orientated
Strong sense of accountability
Proven relationship building and stakeholder management
Must enjoy working in cross-functional teams with tight deadlines and under high pressure
