SUMMARY:
An exciting opportunity exists for a highly skilled Master Artisan – Diesel Mechanic to join a leading organisation based in Pretoria. The role requires a hands-on individual with proven expertise in the maintenance, servicing, and repair of heavy-duty diesel-powered equipment.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities:

Conduct fault-finding, diagnostics, repairs, and overhauls on diesel engines and related systems.
Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on locomotives, rolling stock, or heavy diesel machinery.
Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards at all times.
Maintain accurate records of all work performed and parts used.
Provide technical support and mentorship to Junior Artisans and Apprentices.

Requirements:

Recognised Artisan qualification (Diesel Mechanic / Fitter & Turner / Millwright) with Master Artisan status.
Minimum of 5 years post-trade experience, preferably within rail, mining, or heavy engineering environments.
Strong technical knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, and related systems.
Ability to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays when required.
A proactive, safety-conscious, and quality-driven approach.
