Material Planner

SUMMARY:
Our client in the automotive industry based in East London is looking to employ a Material Planner to join their dynamic team

POSITION INFO:

Key Responsibilities

• Manage material releases in line with production plans and customer demand requirements.
• Monitor stock levels and coordinate replenishment activities to maintain optimal inventory levels and prevent production disruptions.
• Follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of materials and resolve any supply delays impacting operations.
• Capture and maintain accurate inventory transactions and records within the SAP system.
• Liaise with logistics providers and freight forwarding partners to ensure materials are delivered according to schedule.
• Compile and analyse inventory and supply chain data to assist with operational planning and reporting.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within inventory control and SAP-related processes.
• Ensure adherence to company procedures, inventory policies, and applicable compliance requirements.
• Work closely with cross-functional departments including Engineering, Sales, SQE, and Project Sourcing to support material planning and operational readiness.

Minimum Requirements

• Advanced Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in material planning, inventory management, or logistics within a manufacturing environment.
• Practical working knowledge of SAP and inventory/stock control systems.
• Good understanding of supply chain operations, inventory control principles, and material flow processes.
