Salary: R25,000 – R30,000 per month (depending on experience)

Overview:

Our client based in Benoni is urgently seeking a Diesel Mechanic for a temporary project-based contract. The successful candidate must have experience working on both diesel and petrol vehicles/trucks, as well as plant machinery and yellow metal equipment.

This role is ideal for a hands-on, experienced mechanic who can hit the ground running and contribute to a key project. The contract will run until the end of the project.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on diesel and petrol trucks and vehicles

• Service and repair plant machinery and yellow metal equipment

• Perform fault finding and mechanical troubleshooting

• Carry out routine inspections and preventative maintenance

• Maintain accurate records of work performed and report to the project supervisor

• Ensure adherence to health and safety standards at all times

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic working with:

  • Diesel/petrol vehicles and trucks

  • Plant machinery and yellow metal equipment

• Minimum of 3–5 years’ relevant experience

• Semi-skilled mechanics or Red Seal-qualified candidates will be considered

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

• Available to start immediately or no later than 01 September 2025

• Must be reliable and committed for the duration of the project

• Own transport is advantageous
