Mechanical Design Draughtsman

SUMMARY:
Mechanical Design Draughtsman_Automotive / Trailer experience required to assist the Engineering Manager with 5 years' relevant experience, AutoCAD, Inventor and preferably Nesting software experience

POSITION INFO:

Requirements;

• Experience: 5+ years in 3D mechanical parts and components. Trailer and automotive industry experience is preferential.
• Qualifications: Any tertiary draughting qualification. N.Dip in mechanical engineering would be preferred. Candidates without qualifications will be gauged based on their experience and portfolio. The candidates should bring if possible a portfolio of work to the interview.
• Software: Microsoft Office (excel, word, outlook), Nesting software, AutoCAD and Inventor. (nesting software may be excluded; all others are important)
• Notice period: As per candidate contract.
• Interview test: will be conducted on both AutoCAD and Inventor.
• Salary: R20 000 to R30 000. Depending on the candidate’s experience.

Responsibilities;

• Reports to the Engineering manager.
• Convert 2D designs to 3D.
• Assist in implementing drawing standards.
• Take on complete projects from start to finish.
• Assist production and repair departments as needed.
• Create nestings for plasma.
• Assist with day to day.
• Data capturing and filing.
• Proper planning and time management. The successful candidate will be expected to function successfully on their own.
• Maintain good interdepartmental communication and relations.
• Self-motivated and hard working.
