SUMMARY:
A well-established leading comminution, separation and sorting technology provider to the mining and metallurgical plant operations, chemical and industrial industries, as well as pulp and paper industries, requires the above to contribute to the company's on-going success by delivering sustainable solutions to our clients through the application of excellent design skills.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum requirements for the role:

Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent qualification is essential.
Minimum 5 years’ working experience in a similar engineering environment is essential.
Interpersonal and mentorship skills are essential.
Must have a technical aptitude.
Knowledge and experience with AutoCAD, ERP and MS Office is essential.
Professional registration with ECSA.
Good communication and presentation skills are essential.
Good report writing skills is essential.
A high level of computer literacy is essential.
Own transport and valid driver’s license is essential.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Preparing design spreadsheets and templates.
Detailing designs of preferred/selected treatment options.
Preparing detailed engineering packages including piping and Instrumentation diagrams, site layouts, process flow diagrams, equipment specification sheets, functional specifications, civil and structural guideline drawings, electrical demand schedules and chemical and utility demand schedules etc.
Preparing detailed costing’s.
Tender preparation and adjudication.
Procurement or offering procurement strategy advice depending on basis of contracts.
Limited on-site construction monitoring for verification of design at critical stages in various projects including during construction, commissioning and process acceptance testing.
Ensuring health and safety awareness at all times.
Offering input to progress reporting.
Developing operation and maintenance manuals.
Obtaining feedback from the construction manager for continuous improvement.
Interacting with clients and maintain good client relationships.
