JOB SUMMARY:
Well established Manufacturing company is seeking to employ a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in Elandsfontein.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Design innovative R&D aligned with the business strategy, specifically to design, develop and evaluate precision mechanical and electro-mechanical products, subsystems, or components.

Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer
Geographical area: Elandsfontein
The successful incumbent will be responsible for:

Execution of work is to be performed on Computer-Aided Design and simulation workstation
Detailed analysis of test results and where necessary failure analysis to initiate corrective actions
Systematic analysis of the performance of equipment, subsystems, and products
Applying best-practice methods and procedures for testing mechanical components or sub-systems
General understanding of the manufacturing and production processes
Application of measurement uncertainty calculations where appropriate or required
Establish the best methods, practices, and processes required to achieve the required reproducibility and repeatability in manufacturing
Electronic design of products and/or assemblies and/or systems for electrical protection
Research and Development with Technical report writing
Mechanical CAD modelling and simulation
Drive innovation by liaising with internal and external stakeholders
Research and Development into new concept ideas aligned with the business strategy

Minimum qualifications and experience:

MEng or MSc in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
3 years’ experience in a similar product development environment
Thorough knowledge of innovative product development procedures and methodologies (an added advantage)
