Mechanical Draughtsman

SUMMARY:
Mechanical Draughtsman - 6 month contract - 4 - 6 years EXPERIENCE

POSITION INFO:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
To produce accurate design drawings that will ensure successful project execution.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

Documents or accurate unencumbered 3D models
Obtain engineering information.
Utilise computerised filing and numbering system
Conceptualise layout
Generate design drawings, documents and detailed 3D models requiring some rectification and back drafting following checking.
Perform tasks in compliance with Company Systems, Standards and Procedures
Adhere to standards
Promote the company’s image and team cohesion through effective communication and liaison
Actively promote the Company''s professional image, both internally & externally.
Build an ongoing service relationship with contractors and vendors to enhance Company image.
Maintain effective inter-departmental communication.
Manage administration
Maintain personal administration.
Ensure personal performance for technical responsibilities
Perform site visits.
Ensure personal performance for technical responsibilities
Check engineering 3D models
Give feedback to draughtsperson for changes

QUALIFICATIONS:

Professionally, the successful candidate will have a completed N6 and gained practical work experience in mineral processing plants.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
• A proven track record of 2 - 7 years plus experience in discipline specific drawing design/draughting within a mineral processing or petrochemical plant projects environment, is required for this position.
• Experience should ideally be balanced between feasibility studies and project execution work.

REQUIRED SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE:
• Technical Draughting - To generate graphical deliverables from an engineering design
• CAE Software - Ability to use software including setting up systems, procedures and guidelines e.g. AutoCAD
• Engineering and Draughting - Knowledge of models and/or draughting environment including applications/interfaces and products across the disciplines
• Legislation & Standards - Knowledge of sector specific law and knowledge standard specifications and the ability to integrate these standards
• Seldom interfaces with other drawing office disciplines to resolve matters/clashes/interfaces
• Waits for work/information to be supplied by others
• Executes tasks that are assigned without questioning incorrect/sub-optimal designs/solutions
• Not familiar with project and company success drivers
• Meets most deadlines most of the time
• Able to work independently but requires regular supervision and monitoring
