Mechanical Engineer

POSITION INFO:
We are on the lookout for an exceptional Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic Projects & Engineering team. Operating under the Aluminium Division, our mission is to deliver high-performance engineering solutions for the Southern African aluminium market, aligning local innovation with global standards.

This role offers exposure to cutting-edge international technologies, direct collaboration with engineering experts based in France, and the opportunity to leave a lasting impact on the region's industrial landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and manage Bills of Materials (BOMs) via SAP B1 and SAP R3
• Generate and review 2D/3D CAD drawings using Autodesk Inventor and SolidWorks
• Conduct mechanical load calculations and ensure that designs meet certification requirements
• Collaborate with clients, suppliers, workshops, and global teams to deliver tailored solutions
• Uphold ISO 9001 drafting standards, safety compliance, and HSEQ excellence
• Identify and resolve engineering issues, material selection challenges, and component compatibility

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSc or BEng)
• 3–5 years’ experience in mechanical design and draughting
• Strong proficiency in CAD software
• Experience with Solios and ECL equipment is a strong advantage
• Adept at problem-solving, stakeholder engagement, and working across borders
