Our client in the manufacturing industry is seeking a Mechanical Engineer (R&D) to join them in Centurion, Gauteng.

The successful incumbent will be responsible for:

• Research and development of new products and technologies in the mining and mineral processing industry.
• Designing of new products and presenting ideas to colleagues for design review.
• Performing FEA and CFD Simulations and creating CAD models and drawing packs.
• Managing prototype builds and testing. Testing may be off-site on mineral processing plants.
• Investigate new suppliers and products and be at the forefront of available technology to
• improve products.
• Liaising with suppliers, create project plans and manage projects.

Minimum qualifications and experience:

• Mechanical Engineer (B. Eng)
• 8 Years’ total experience in Mechanical Engineering of which 5 years must be in 3D modelling and design.
• 3 years research and development
• Strong project management skills
• Expert CAD skills
• Must be able to perform advanced FEA and CFD analysis and interpret results.
• Understanding of fluid dynamics and centrifugal pumps will be a big advantage.
