SUMMARY:

Principal Mechanical Engineer – Pretoria (Permanent)
Seeking a highly experienced Principal Mechanical Engineer with a B.Eng, BSc, or BTech in Mechanical Engineering and ECSA professional registration. The ideal candidate has 8+ years of experience in the built environment, covering hospitals, clinics, commercial buildings, and large-scale projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead mechanical building services design, including HVAC, fire protection, wet services, and medical gas systems.
Manage staff, project budgets, financial controls, and client relationships.
Oversee construction administration, ensuring compliance with National Building Regulations and relevant standards.
Prepare project proposals, reports, and cost estimates while managing contracts like GCC, FIDIC, NEC, and PROCSA.
Independently manage projects from inception to completion, ensuring quality, time, and cost efficiency.
Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work independently or lead teams.

Preferred Skills:

Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, MS Office, and HAP HVAC design software.
Ability to handle high-pressure environments and manage multiple stakeholders.
Established client base and networking skills are highly valuable.

Remuneration: Negotiable, based on qualifications and experience.

POSITION INFO:
Qualifications and experience: B.Eng, BSc or BTech degree in Mechanical Engineering Candidate must be professionally registered with ECSA Minimum of 8 year’s relevant experience in the built environment (Hospitals, Clinics, Commercial Buildings, Offices, workshops, stores, etc.). Engineering experience in large projects covering relevant divisional requirements. Experience in construction administration and management.
