SUMMARY:
Our client a dynamic and expanding chemical dosing equipment company based in Macassar, Western Cape is looking for an energetic, motivated, and technically skilled Mechanical Fitter to join their team. If you are a passionate about engineering and looking to grow, we are looking for you!

POSITION INFO:
Position: Mechanical Fitter

Location: Macassar, Western Cape

Reports To: Project Manager or Technical Foreman

Industry: Water and Waste Water Industry

Minimum Qualifying Criteria:

N6 Mechanical qualification with a relevant trade test
1–3 years’ experience in site installations, manufacturing & assembly
Proven technical, troubleshooting, and engineering abilities
Proficiency in reading blueprints & technical drawings
Physically fit, able to work at heights & confined spaces
Strong skills in hand tools & machine tools
Microsoft Office (Intermediate)
Valid, unendorsed Code 08 driver’s license

Skills Required:

Good communication skills – Afrikaans and English
Must be able to work with minimum supervision
Strong leadership and communication skills
Strong hand-eye coordination with a mechanical aptitude.
Enjoy practical and manual work and be able to work in a pressurized environment
Excellent observational skills.
Self-motivated and meticulous attention to detail
Proactive and excellent problem-solving skills
Flexibility and adaptability – think on feet.
Deadline driven.
Adhere to safety protocol.
Ability to multitask and manage priorities effectively
Must have sober habits
Willingness to work overtime when required
Must be a team player

Roles and Responsibilities:

Install mechanical equipment
Work closely as per risk assessments and method statements to make sure health and safety is strictly adhered to at all times
Ensure compliance to all company rules
Actively engage with management in the planning, organizing and delivery of work
Assist team leaders with day to day operations on site
Identify site issues and report to Project Manager or Technical Foreman to ensure resolution
