SUMMARY:
Responsible for basic maintenance of equipment in a safe and effective manner, that will ensure the reliability of equipment.

Minimum Education

Grade 12

Additional Qualifications

Post Matric Mechanic certificate

Minimum Work Experience

At least four years of experience gained in the capacity of a mechanic
Valid and unendorsed EC1 (EC Preferably) + PDP
Vehicle and machinery fault finding experience

Key Result Areas:

Conducting vehicle inspection and fault finding and diagnostics
Deliver technical solutions for diagnosed problems
Performance preventive maintenance and repairs
Report all fault and findings
Inspect equipment for defects or required repairs
Conducting vehicle inspection and fault finding and diagnostics
Deliver technical solutions for diagnosed problems
Perform preventative maintenance and repairs
Inspect equipment for defects or required repairs
Use hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges and precision instruments, as well as power tools
Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries and lubricating equipment and machinery
Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test instruments

Skills:

Equipment repairing skills
Active listening and giving full attention and grasping instructions
Operation monitoring skills by monitoring gauges, dials to ensure machinery is working properly
Effective communication skills
Troubleshooting skills in determining causes of operating errors
Problem solving in identifying problems
Equipment selection in determining the kind of tools and equipment required
Time management skills
