Mechanical / Project Engineer (Power Generation sector)

SUMMARY:
We have an Exciting opportunity for a Mechanical/Project Engineer in the Power Generation sector, Johannesburg

POSITION INFO:

Requirements:

• Experience servicing power stations and operational knowledge of the turbines and valves in the station
• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
• Experience in general manufacturing and maintenance.
• Engineering workshop, machining and grinding experience.
• Experience working with ISO 9001 quality management system.
• Basic CAD experience
• Microsoft Office
• Be able to use all mechanical measuring equipment
• Understand and interpret technical drawings
• Understanding basic welding processes
• Own Transport
• Must work well under pressure, keep to deadlines and be willing to work extended hours from time to time to meet deadlines.
• Be able to travel on short notice, throughout Southern Africa, and Zambia.
• Knowledge and experience in surface engineering and coatings (preferable)

Job specification:

• Mechanical Engineer reports directly to the Engineering Support Manager
• Be able to operate largely independently
• Be able to liaise with customers, specify solutions and quote.
• Prepare quotes, within 24 hours of receiving the enquiry
• Negotiate tenders, contract terms and conditions to meet client and company needs.
• Give timeous and proper feedback to customers on delivery dates
• Remains current in terms of all technologies relevant to the industry.
