Medical Administrator

Introduction:

A medical billing and financial service firm in Pretoria North is seeking an Accounts Administrator with 5 – 7 years’ experience within a similar role to join their team.

Job Purpose:

The Accounts administrator oversees the day-to-day activities relating to the financial and back-office tasks relating to the Locum Anaesthetists, ensuring that the relevant finance functions are organised, and efficient, and financial and operational controls are effectively designed, implemented and adhered to. Furthermore, assists the General Manager in processing, preparing, and reviewing accurate and up to date Locum payment reports.

 

Requirements

Minimum education (essential):

  • National Senior Certificate

Minimum education (desirable):

  • Excel certificate
  • Elixir certificate

Minimum applicable experience (years):

  • 5 - 7 years’ experience

Required nature of experience:

  • Experience with medical accounts and billing.
  • Analysing financial data and preparing financial reports.
  • Monitoring expenditure and forecasting revenue.
  • Formulating financial strategies and implementing proper internal controls.

 

Skills and Knowledge Required:

  • Elixir (Or similar medical billing software i.e Medicharge, Vericlaim or Medemass).
  • Knowledge of medical accounts and billing.
  • Solid understanding of accounting and accounting software principles
  • Computer literate with excellent MS Office skills especially Excel.

Key Performance Areas, Weights and Objectives

Locum Payments 45%

  • Assist General Manager with:

o Processing, preparing and review of Locum accounts.

o Data analysis to identify and rapport trends.

  • Responsible for key reconciliations relating to Locum accounts.
  • VAT calculations.

 

Documentation Control 45%

  • Gather procedure card information, validate information, file and upload the cards.
  • Exercise strong controls over payments of Locums and loading of new beneficiaries.
  • Exercise strong controls over approval and onboarding of new Locums and loading of approved data on the various operating / financial systems.
  • Responsible for protection and confidentiality of all master data listed above.

 

Admin 5%

  • Ensure that appropriate systems and internal controls are implemented and maintained.
  • Identify, evaluate, and prioritise risks.
  • Maintain confidentiality.

 

AD Hoc 5%

  • To perform any other duties as requested from time to time.

Remuneration

R 18 000 – R 23 000
