Medical Aid Scheme Principal Officer

The Principal Officer is appointed, in terms of the Medical Aid Act no.23 of 1995.  The appointed person acts as guardian and is independent from the Administrator of the fund with the main objective of ensuring that the fund is managed in the best interest of all its members.

Minimum Requirements:

• A post-graduate qualification, preferably in accounting, business management, law or health sciences (NQF Level: 8 or equivalent).
• At least five (5) years management or consulting experience in the Medical Scheme industry or healthcare industry
• Previous experience as a Principal Officer would be advantageous
• In depth knowledge of South African healthcare systems and medical aid schemes
• Sound business acumen and referenceable track record
• Good knowledge and understanding of legislation applicable to medical aid
• Ability to apply technical and professional know how
• Decisive and achievement orientated persona
• Able to work remotely and to travel as and when required
• Excellent written and verbal communication
