Mid-Tier Software Engineer (Java)

SUMMARY:
Our client, a leading software solutions firm based in Johannesburg is recruiting for an Innovative Mid-Tier Software Engineer that will be responsible to work with the Java programming language to develop web applications and computer systems. The successful candidate must come with 3 - 4 years in a similar position.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum Requirements:

• BSc or higher in Computer Science or Information Technology.
• Essential: Java Certification.
• 3-4 Years’ experience in a similar position.
• It would be advantageous if exposure was gained in:
  • Real-time web-based user interfaces.
  • Complex web-based portals.
  • Financial systems and accounting concepts.

• Experience in the following technologies:
  • Java JEE
  • IBM MQ Series
  • Glassfish / Payara
  • Web Logic
  • Primefaces
  • Microsoft SQL Server
  • SOAP/RESTful web services
  • EJB
  • IntelliJ
  • Bitbucket
  • Jira

Job Responsibilities:

• Responsible for system maintenance and new development as required.
• Responsible for committing code within specified timelines and within the guidelines.
• Responsible for ensuring the quality of delivered code.
• Take charge of component development as required.
• Provide maintenance and code enhancements for the production team.
• Enhancing your knowledge of development principals, programming language development and elements of modern UI design and deployment.
• Required to deploy systems onsite at the customers.
• Liaise with testing teams and where necessary directly with the customer.
• Work in accordance to the prevailing delivery methodology as defined by the business.
