Job description
A big food Manufacturer situated in City Deep, Johannesburg is seeking a qualified Millwright who has at least 5 years experience in a food manufacturing /FMCG experience in the electrical / mechanical field.
The ideal artisan will have a sense of urgency on the job with good understanding of multiple machines and workings hydraulics, pneumatics, AC drives, sensors and plc control.
The candidate must be able to relate to electrical schematics to help him in the fault-finding task when needed .
The plant works with compressed air, boiler, refrigeration, water and normal electrical distribution to the plant, the understanding of all and master it will be an advantage.
This makes up the candidate that we need to be an artisan.
The senior artisan (Millwright) will be hands-on and manage a small group of artisans in this environment, handling job cards and delegate work on the basses of priority breakdowns on daily and weekly scheduling planned maintenance. (Small Groupe- Fitter and apprentice ,with refrigeration person backup.)
The senior artisan will be coaching the team on all the subject matter that makes him the senior/master in following up on work done.
This go without say, that all the actions revolve around a plant that is producing product on a 24 hour priority. Ammonia experience is a plus.

POSITION INFO:
Education/Experience: -

Grade 12
Red Seal Trade Test/Diploma
Ensure maximum machine availability through effective repairs & maintenance on all factory equipment.
Ensure that all Job cards and Scheduled Maintenance are completed as per DMS.
Supervise effective utilization of machinery and report to line supervision and production Management on non-conformances and deviations.
Report requirements for critical spares and equipment to Maintenance Foreman/Manager.
New works and installation
Housekeeping ( Ensure all work is carried out as per Food Safety Requirements / Workshop to comply to food safety standards.
Health & Safety
Upgrading of mechanical reticulation in the factory
Diagnosis all mechanical faults and repairs or replaces as
required Attend to breakdowns
Mechanical supply to new equipment
Reading of mechanical diagrams in EU and SANS formats
Monitor condition of mechanical installations
Ability to perform call outs
Ensure that maintenance machinery is in acceptable and safe working condition
Complete daily job cards and other routine paperwork as required
Ability to design and draw simple hydrolic and numatic circuits
Able to work shifts and on standby
Own transport essential
