SUMMARY:
Mine Manager – Open Cast Mining
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mine Manager to oversee and manage operations at our open cast mining site based in Mpumalanga. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that production targets are met safely, efficiently, and within budget, while maintaining compliance with all statutory requirements.

POSITION INFO:

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage all open cast mining operations to achieve production and safety targets.
• Ensure compliance with the Mine Health and Safety Act, environmental standards, and other regulatory requirements.
• Develop, implement, and monitor mine plans, budgets, and schedules.
• Manage and coordinate the workforce, including contractors, to ensure efficient operations.
• Oversee maintenance of mining equipment, ensuring maximum availability and efficiency.
• Monitor production data, costs, and performance, and report on progress to senior management.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives in safety, productivity, and cost control.
• Maintain strong stakeholder relationships, including with regulatory bodies, suppliers, and local communities.

Requirements:

• Degree/Diploma in Mining Engineering or related field.
• Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competency (Open Cast).
• Minimum 8–10 years’ experience in open cast mining, with at least 5 years in a senior management role.
• Strong knowledge of mining legislation, safety regulations, and best practices.
• Proven track record in achieving production and cost targets in large-scale mining operations.
• Valid driver’s license.
