Model Development Manager

SUMMARY:
Are you an experienced quantitative risk professional with a passion for developing world-class credit risk models? A leading financial services organisation is seeking a Manager – Model Development to lead the development, enhancement, implementation, and governance of IFRS9 and Basel-related models within Retail portfolios.

POSITION INFO:
This is a strategic and highly technical leadership opportunity for a modelling expert who thrives on solving complex business problems and delivering robust analytical solutions. You will play a key role across the entire model lifecycle, from development and validation through to implementation, governance, and stakeholder engagement. Key Responsibilities: Lead the design, development, enhancement, and implementation of IFRS9 and Basel credit risk models. Provide expert guidance on model development, validation, governance, and best-practice methodologies. Partner with stakeholders across the business to translate requirements into impactful analytical solutions. Perform advanced analytics, forecasting, trend analysis, and scenario modelling. Support model validation activities, audit engagements, and regulatory interactions. Ensure compliance with model risk management frameworks, governance standards, and regulatory requirements. Mentor and develop junior analysts while fostering a collaborative, high-performance team culture. Requirements: Honours degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Econometrics, Quantitative Finance, Financial Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or Data Science. Minimum of 5 years' experience within a senior quantitative analytics or credit risk modelling environment. Strong experience in IFRS9 and\/or Basel regulatory modelling. Proficiency in SAS will be advantageous. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills. What's on Offer?
