Monthly Accountant

SUMMARY:
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Monthly Accountant to join their finance team in George. This position is ideal for an organised accounting professional who enjoys working with numbers, meeting deadlines, and ensuring financial accuracy.

POSITION INFO:
Description: Manage full bookkeeping functions for a portfolio of clients across various industries. Process and reconcile bank, credit card, and cash transactions accurately and timeously. Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in accounting software (e.g., Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, Pastel). Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions. Prepare and submit VAT returns and ensure compliance with tax regulations. Perform monthly reconciliations of bank accounts, creditors, debtors, and general ledger accounts. Process journals, accruals, prepayments, and month-end adjustments. Prepare management accounts and financial reports for clients. Monitor cash flow and assist clients with budgeting and financial planning information. Liaise with clients regarding financial queries and outstanding documentation. Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and statutory requirements. Assist accountants with year-end audit preparation and financial statement support. Requirements Have minimum 2 years' experience in accounting Knowledge in Sage and Xero Degree in accounting would be beneficial but not a requirement Be able to work with minimal supervision Please note only candidates that meet the minimum requirements will be considered.
