JOB SUMMARY:
National Payroll Specialist

JOB DESCRIPTION:

This exciting position is in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town and ideal for a skilled Payroll Specialist that has the ability to work in a stressful environment with stringent deadlines. Ability to work with minimum supervision. Your ability to multi-task and to manage pressure will make you a suitable candidate for the role.

Requirements:

Matric
Minimum 3yrs experience in processing salaries on VIP Premier of SAGE People or similar payroll packages
Minimum 4 years working experience in similar role

Duties:

Processing the monthly salaried payroll - some 700+ staff in Cape Town - over 2000 staff nationally with payroll in the various provinces
Managing all admin relevant to monthly payroll
Loading and updating all employee information on the payroll system - SAGE
Ensuring all employees'' deductions are correctly recorded and the relevant deductions made
Calculate and pay over third-party payments timeously and accurately
Liaising with all Funds and Third Parties as required e.g. Pension Fund / Medical Aid / lemas and more
Administering UIF, Pension Fund and Medical Aid documentation as required
Processing employee terminations
Reconciling monthly salaries payrolls
Reconciling tax year end recons
Preparing annual budget schedules
Compiling annual bonus and increase schedules
Assist monthly employees with salaries queries
Maintaining and updating all employee personal files
Distributing Pension Fund statements and IRP5 when necessary
Ensuring all monthly deadlines are met
Maintaining a good relationship with managers as well as employees to ensure a good flow of communication
Keeping up to date with tax tables and other statutory changes
Managing the full payroll system in terms of updates and required changes
Any other ad-hoc payroll related duties when required
