Network Engineer L2 (Security)

Our Client a Global tech firm is seeking a Network Engineer L2 (Security) to join their team in Sandton. They offer stability, growth, attractive salary along with benefits and an excellent working environment.

As a Network Engineer, you'll be responsible for maintaining and managing the company's network infrastructure. You'll ensure that our offices are well maintained and safe places to work for everyone in the office. In addition, you'll monitor any issues regarding cleanliness or safety in order to make sure they're addressed quickly and effectively. You will also be tasked with liaising with architects on matters such as building plans or design changes within a set timeframe.

Requirements

• Sound networking background supporting multiple firewall platforms such as, Fortinet, Palo Alto, and Cisco ASA.
• Must have a good understanding of TCP/IP, IPSec, VLANs, system hardening, and troubleshooting.
• Experience as a Network Analyst / Network Engineer or equivalent knowledge
• Understanding of Cisco technologies, including: Routing, Switching
• Should have the ability to independently configure and troubleshoot Site – to – Site VPN on Fortigate, ASA Firewall
• Experience identifying and resolving network health issues and generally identifying, prioritizing and measures aimed at improving the quality of the network service.
• Excellent understanding of BIG-IP upgrade process and/or path - Good understanding of Linux is a plus.
• Must be familiar with tcpdump, wireshark, Fiddler, HTTP watch etc. • Deep understanding of OSI layer.
• Must be familiar with PKI and SSL certificates and able to decrypt and analyze HTTPS traffic.
• Good understanding on various AAA server technologies such as Active Directory, RADIUS,LDAP/S, TACACS+ etc.
• Excellent understanding on SSL VPN concepts and Enterprise remote access technologies.
• Understanding of well known Web application attacks and way to mitigate.
• Experience with Juniper SRX platform with firewall security policies.

Qualifications

• Relevant degree / diploma
• 4 - 7 years experience as a Network Engineer
• Experience in BlueCoat products is a plus.
