Calling all Support Engineers, a company focused on becoming the only preferred supplier of unmatched transmission and network optimisation, is looking for a Network Support Engineer in Pretoria East area.

POSITION INFO:

Job & Company Description:

This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving customers networks, with the goal of maximizing customer network performance. You will also provide troubleshooting and configuration support by using your strong technical skills in networking for network performance monitoring solutions. Additionally, automation and reporting features are expanded on existing tools using Python scripts. The company also has a new solutions development portfolio which entails hardware and software development and mobile device components. The tech stack includes: C#; C++, Django, Java, Kotlin, MariaDB, MySQL, PHP, Python, Swift and Xamarin

Education:

  A tertiary qualification in IT.

Job Experience & Skills Required:

Min of 2-4 years’ experience in a similar role.

Exposure in support of large scale LAN/WAN environments.

Experience in Diagnosing IP based network issues.

Performed monitoring on network performance.

Understanding of OSI.

Good knowledge on how network technologies operate (Ethernet, routing protocols L3, TCP, UDP, FTP/SFTP, L2 (VLAN).

UNIX/Linux systems administration across various distributions.

Beneficial:

Previous programming experience, product integration or API programming.

Network automation or software development in Python.

NFV/SDN
