SUMMARY:
With head office in Durban, this leading electronics manufacturer is on the prowl for their new chief hunter to bring in new business & with it, the big bucks! The role can be based in the East Rand or Durban, with the purpose of reaching new clients in the main areas of Gauteng (this is where your network will give you the upper hand)

POSITION INFO:

Having been in the manufacturing of electronics for decades, this tight-knit group are at the pinnacle of what they do. With their services spanning across various sectors (& new ones on the horizon), they’ve shown no signs of slowing down. They’re now looking for someone who’s going to hit the ground running & bring in new clients.

 

Your role will have you tasked with growing the organisation’s sales by identifying & developing business & commercial opportunities. In addition, you are to achieve / exceed targets / budget that are aimed at growing sales & profits. You won’t be managing people, but rather the entire sales process from start to account management

 

Minimum requirements:

Essential:

  • Bachelor’s degree, ideally in marketing or communications
  • 5 years’ experience in sales in Sales & Marketing field at a senior management level
  • At least 3 years’ electronics & technical experience manufacturing or in industrial electronics with track record, with the knack to increase sales, provide technical & after sales support / experience as a Field Sales Engineer in the electronics components industry
  • Sound knowledge of various electronics & wire harnessing products
  • Have a strong understanding of a broad spectrum of industries
  • Be willing & able to travel
  • Have a network base within Gauteng

Responsibilities:

  • Build strong working relationships with the Managing Director & other leadership to formulate & develop effective marketing & business strategies that will align with the overall company objectives.
  • Credit management
  • Formulation & implementation of account development plans
  • Lead generation
  • Establish objectives for Rand volume, distribution, & support for specified products.
  • Develop a marketing plan to ensure the brand is known in the marketplace.
  • Understand the different exhibitions that will need to be attended to create brand awareness & lead generation
  • Develop & maintain relationships at an executive level, senior management level & junior level with all customers
  • Prepare & present plan to achieve sales objectives (key account plan).
  • Achieve budgets
  • Comply with sales plan
  • Contribute to weekly sales report meetings
  • Oversee the overall customer experience. Develop & implement strategies that will optimise the experience & reflect the company values & mission.
  • Manage marketing analytics & utilize results to produce impactful campaign & optimize advertising spend.
  • Excellent product knowledge

 

Competencies & attitudes:

  • Sound knowledge of the different types of products, services, technologies & printing processes within the printing industry.
  • Knowledge of plant capability & machine specifications
  • Able to take customer through quotes in detail
  • Computer literate
  • Ability to build & execute marketing strategies that align with the company branding & financial projections.
  • Strong marketing experience is required
  • An innate curiosity about all things tech.
  • Superior analytics skills to determine organisational needs & the ability to develop effective strategic marketing plans.
  • Lead generation optimisation experience is required.
  • Ability to translate insights into action & strategies that will achieve profit & sales objectives.
  • Ensure sales margins are kept to a maximum.
  • Ability to work quickly, make decisions, & take action in an environment that at times, may have limited resources.
  • Excellent communication & presentation skills. A brand ambassador who keeps our mission & purpose at the forefront of the brand message
  • Self-driven & ability to work with minimal supervision

Remuneration & benefits:

  • R 700 000 CTC
  • Plus a commission structure, which will be discussed at interview stage
  • Working hours: Monday – Thursday: 07:30 – 16:30; Friday: 07:30 – 15:15
