SUMMARY:
Our client has a vacant position for a Supervisor to manage a team of New Business Officers. 6-8 years experience in managing a large sales team is needed. Must have passed a DC exam. Understanding of all credit agreements, certificates of balance and credit bureau reports.

POSITION INFO:
Job role:
There are millions of consumers in South Africa with financial problems which prevent them from paying Credit Providers. Most of these consumers believe more debt is the (only) solution.
 
In order to assist these consumers, it is necessary to help them to understand the reason for their financial problems and only then can a solution to solve their financial stress be proposed.
 
The Supervisor – New Business Officers will manage a team of New Business Officers who will contact consumers to offer assistance to improve their financial wellbeing by understanding what went wrong and to provide a possible solution and, where applicable, assist the Consumer to complete a Debt Review Application (Form 16).
 
The biggest challenge for the New Business Team is this:
 
“Debt Review is sold and not bought”
 
In order for this sales team to be effective with a high strike rate it is a key requirement for the incumbent to manage and equip the sales team with the knowledge and tools to achieve the following:
 
§  “Hook” the consumer inside the first 30 seconds to continue the call.
§  Position the benefits of a free budget and credit report assessment.
§  Conduct the assessment and report back to the client in an easy-to-understand way what went wrong and, where appropriate, propose a restructuring of debt which could reduce monthly payments and improve cash flow.
§  Where applicable identify debt that is prescribed and inform the consumers how he/she can make this debt disappear.
§  Ability to answer any financial or debt related question or objection that the consumer might have.
§  Where applicable assist the consumers to complete and sign a Debt Review Application (Form 16).
 
 
 
In order to be successful, the incumbent will need the following:
 
§  Proven experience in Managing a large sales team.  
§  An excellent understanding of the spending behaviour of consumers, types of credit agreements and the ability to assist consumers to budget correctly for living expenses and to determine how much is available to repay debt.
§  Ability to check if the available repayment amount is sufficient to draw up a reasonable repayment plan. 
§  Ability to Illustrate to the consumer how debt can be repaid and how they can become debt free.
§  The ability to assist the consumer to complete a Debt Review Application (Form 16).
§  The ability to repeat this process in order to achieve agreed targets.

Minimum Education:

  • Matric / Sales Diploma – preferable.
  • 6-8 Years of proven experience to manage, motivate a winning sales team
  • Passed the DC Exam or be willing to write the DC Exam.
  • Understanding of all Credit Agreements, Certificates of Balance, Credit Bureau reports, budgeting and spending norms as well as repayment plans and proposals.
  • Experience in negotiating and selling to consumers.
  • Coaching or marketing qualification and/or experience.
  • Ability to motivate and discipline team to reach targets.
  • Clear criminal and credit records.
  • Must display high energy and attitude to be able to lead by example and getting the sales team to operate accordingly.
Minimum Work Experience:
·         8 years of proven experience to manage and motivate a winning sales team
·         Working experience of the debt review process.
·         Proven sales and team management experience.
·         Any previous Banking experience would be beneficial
