SUMMARY:

KEY OUTPUTS

Manage the total quality of the nursing care of the hospital
Manage all administrative policies, procedures and protocols that support the nursing services Manage Safety, Health, Environment, Quality and Risk principles
Develop the nursing staff and recognise the diverse contributions of these individuals and their teams
Ensure a positive working environment conducive to Continuous Professional Development
Monitor staffing levels based on departmental acuity levels
Oversee, review and update nursing policies and procedures
Oversee the adherence of all nursing statutory requirements
Provide a daily hospital report
Report all hospital issues to the Hospital Manager and the Executives
Develop, implement and evaluate the nursing strategic plans and sub-unit strategic plans in correlation to the Group Business Plan
Oversee a monthly clinical audit meeting with the Unit Managers
Attend to ad hoc queries and meetings

POSITION INFO:

REQUIREMENTS

Current Registration with SANC as a Professional Registered Nurse
Proven management experience of no less than three years a Unit Manager or Deputy Nursing Services Manager
Post Basic Qualification in ICU or Trauma
Diploma or equivalent qualification in Nursing Administration
Minimum of five years’ experience at Registered Nurse level in a specialty ward
Output driven and goal directed
Able to lead and motivate the nursing team
Ability to focus during stressful times
A pleasant disposition and excellent interpersonal and communication skills are vital
Excellent leadership abilities
Excellent computer skills
