A well-established and entrepreneurial business is looking for a commercially minded Operational Accountant who enjoys working close to the heart of a business. This role offers the opportunity to partner directly with the CEO, combining strong financial reporting with operational involvement in a fast-paced and hands-on environment.

POSITION INFO:
Company and Job Description:
This established organisation is seeking an Operational Accountant who can bridge the gap between finance and operations. The successful candidate will support financial reporting while contributing to operational efficiencies and business decision-making. Reporting directly to the CEO, this individual will be trusted to work independently, make sound decisions, and take ownership in a hands-on environment suited to someone with a strong commercial mindset.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee financial reporting and ensure the accuracy and integrity of accounting information
Provide financial insights to support operational and strategic decision-making
Monitor operational costs, purchasing activity, and related financial processes
Assist with cost analysis, supplier-related financial processes, and transactional oversight
Work closely with leadership to improve processes and operational efficiencies

Job Experience and Skills Required:

BCom Degree or related qualification beneficial
3–5 years’ experience within a commercial finance or operational accounting environment
Strong financial reporting and accounting fundamentals
Exposure to stock, procurement, distribution, or import/export environments beneficial
Ability to work independently, think commercially, and operate effectively in a hands-on business
