SUMMARY:
Operational Accountant with completed articles required for Middle Management position

POSITION INFO:

Responsible for assisting the CFO by managing, planning, directing, and controlling company accounting and finances. This includes product costing, cost analysis, financial planning, budgeting, raw material, and general procurement. Responsibilities also include analysing the impact of the company''''s daily activities on the balance sheet such as the receipting of goods, AR, AP and cash, and continuous improvement activities. An accounting generalist with a good understanding of both financial and cost accounting is required. Somebody who is independent and can work with minimum supervision and control although always with support.

• Preparation of monthly Management Accounts: Oversee the outsourced accounting function and be the point of contact for the outsourced service provider. Collating and consolidating the transactional processes received from the outsourced service provider and providing the CFO with punctual and accurate Management Accounts.
• Overseeing Procurement: Managing the procurement function, including supply chain and raw material procurement and the process flow thereof. Developing and implementing a procurement strategy together with the CFO and the operations team.
• Costing: Managing the product costing function together with the CFO. Ensuring that the BOM is correctly costed and updated as required and that all inventory, WIP, and finished goods processes and systems are effective and efficient.
• Overseeing IT: Managing the outsourced IT function.
• Tracking Labour and Procurement Costs: Track costs associated with labour, raw materials, and supplies. Prepare expense reports related to employee hours and materials cost comparisons.
• Financial Planning and Analysis: Coordinating and consolidating the annual budget process together with the CFO. Preparing detailed monthly forecasts based on actual historical performance. Monthly variance reporting; monthly projections.
• Ad-Hoc Projects: Completing ad-hoc financial and related projects as required by the CFO and the business.

Requirements

• Qualified accountant with a recognised accounting body. Completed articles. A minimum of 5-Years PQE.
• Deep understanding of sales invoicing processes related to inventory flow and cost of sales.
• Deep understanding of accounting principles (IFRS, GAAP).
• A good understanding of tax, including VAT, PAYE, and Income Tax principles.
• Auditing Knowledge: oversee annual external audit.
• Proficiency with Xero and related accounting systems, plug-ins, and tools.
• Manufacturing Experience: Experience in dealing with BOM costing, material procurement, stock systems, production process flow, different types of manufacturing models.
• Experience in multi-territory accounting will be beneficial.

Salary offer: R1.5M TCTC per annum
